7 Winter Home Made Face Masks

Winter is the time for snowcapped mountains, pounds of hot cocoa, and ice skating with your loved ones- and terribly dry, flaky skin. Don’t suffer with terrible winter ridden skin this season! Indulge in flawless skin that is as smooth as butter and nourished as ever with these (incredibly) easy face masks for winter.

1. Chocolate Face Mask

Decadent, delicious, moist, and luscious- just a few words we use to describe the enchanting taste of chocolate. And as every woman is tempted by the sweetness of a chocolate bar all winter long, it’s only natural we come up with a chocolatey face mask that will heighten our sense of smell while giving us beautifully smooth skin. All you need to create this mask is:

-1/3 cup cocoa powder

-1/4 cup honey

-2 tablespoons cream, plain yogurt, or sour cream

-3 teaspoon oats

Blend all of the ingredients in a blender until the mixture runs smooth, then apply to a clean, dry face. Leave the chocolate face mask on for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Dry your face and enjoy silky smooth skin that’s almost as creamy and appetizing as a sweet chocolate treat.

 2. Oats and Honey Facial

While this might be a staple in some kitchens for breakfast, this tasty food blend also has plenty of nourishing benefits for the face, too. The oat and honey facial works in two magnificent ways: first it acts as a gentle exfoliator to get rid of dirt, grime, and dry skin. Secondly, this mixture comes in with anti-inflammatory and smoothing properties for overall delightful, clean, and incredibly creamy skin. To make this exfoliator, all you need is two simple ingredients:

-1/2 cup oats

-1/2 cup honey

Before you’re tempted to dive in to this delectable dish, throw it all into a blender until it runs smooth. Next, apply it to your face using small circular motions. Leave the mixture on for 10 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

 3. Avocado & Honey Mask

One of the biggest struggles women face during the chilly months is dry, flaky skin. But lucky for us, it’s never been easier to combat this terrible dilemma with a simple 2 ingredient face mask that’s perfect for dry skin. Let your skin indulge in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, even softening properties with only these two ingredients:

-1/2 ripe avocado

-1/4 cup honey

Simply mash the avocado with a fork. Empty into a bowl and stir in the honey. Apply to the face and leave the mask on for 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water.


 4. Avocado & Olive Oil Mask

Some people don’t have honey in their homes- maybe you’re allergic to it, maybe you don’t like the taste, or maybe you find it a little to steep for your grocery bill. That’s where this special, penetrating face mask comes into play. Ladies, I proudly introduce you to the avocado and olive oil mask. This mixture deeply penetrates the skin with vitamins, minerals, and other essential ingredients to produce absolutely lovely and silky smooth skin. All you need for this mask is:

-1 ripe avocado

-1 tablespoon olive oil

Mash up the avocado with a fork until it turns into a smooth paste. Transfer to a bowl and mix it with the olive oil. Leave the mask on your face for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.

 5. Berry Yogurt Mask

We all know how incredibly healthy berries are for our bodies, so why wouldn’t they be great on our skin too? To put it plainly, this particular mask is good enough to eat. And it provides amazing results you will be happy with. Fight all of those terrible winter skin dilemmas with this (rather delicious) berry yogurt mask! All you need is:

-2 tablespoons plain yogurt

-2 tablespoons honey

-1/4 cup berries (any)

-1 tablespoon lemon juice

To create this yummy face mask, start by throwing in the plain yogurt and honey into a blender, pulsing until it is combined. Then add the berries. Puree until the mixture runs smooth, then add lemon juice. Apply mixture to the face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. What a great way to use up those leftover summer berries!

 6. Banana Mask

Elements of winter can be super harsh on the skin, right? If your skin is craving something softening, moisturizing, and nourishing, then we have the answer for you: this delightful and SUPER easy banana mask! Making this mask is easier than making your breakfast every morning. All you need is:

-1 banana

-sweet cream

All you need to do is mash the banana until it’s smooth, then add enough sweet cream so that the mixture is thick enough to apply to the face (not too watery). Apply to the face and leave on for about 30 minutes, then rinse with cool water. You’ll LOVE the amazing results this simple mask provides!


7. Egg White Mask

Okay, so not everyone struggles with super dry skin in the winter. Some ladies out there fight oily faces whether it’s 100 degrees or -15 degrees! Sound like you? Then there’s really only one mask to turn to: the egg white mask. Perfect for gals with overly-oily skin and larger-than-life pores, this delightful mixture only requires ONE ingredients. That’s right, ONE!

-Egg white

Simply beat an egg white and apply all over the face. Leave the egg white on for 30 minutes, then rinse with water. This mask will not only take care of oils and pores, but will also refresh, tighten, nourish, and protect skin from winter elements.
