    From the second that you find out that you are expecting, you start to look through prospective baby names. Many young girls even start to imagine uncommon baby names when they are still children. If you are looking for the perfect name, there are many on this list that you can choose from. Look through the list and leave a comment if we left out any of your favorites.

    50 Uncommon Baby Boy Names

    1. Ainsley

    This is another name that works well for both genders. It means the field of hermits, but we think the name deserves a better meaning.

    2. Albin

    Albin sounds a lot like the name “Alba”, which means white. Albus also happens to be the name of the wizard, Albus Dumbledore, in the Harry Potter series.

    3. Anthem

    Unique and fun to say!

    4. Auden

    This name actually works fairly well for both genders. The name Auden can be modified as Aiden for a boy, or kept as is as a sign of respect for the poet, W.H. Auden. In English, it is said to mean “old friend”.

    5. Basil

    I am pretty certain that there was a detective called Basil .

    6. Bender

    This sounds like an extremely fun, interesting name for a boy.

    7. Blayde

    If you are tired of the more traditional spelling of Blade, then Blayde is for you.

    8. Britton

    This works for both genders and can be modified as Bryton for a little boy. Based on the name of Brittany (a town in England), it is a name that calls to mind the coastline and the Celts.

    9. Charleston

    You can dance the Charleston or sip sweet tea on a southern porch in Charleston. Either way, it sounds like an awesome name.

    Since the television show about the fictional mystery writer “Richard Castle”, Castle has quickly become a popular alternative boys name.
