Love is in the air—or at least, love music is. If you want a modern love song to describe your feelings, these are some of the 15 best ones to use. Make them “your” couple song or just give them to your partner in a play list. We tried to include some of the best modern lvoe songs, but leave a comment if we forgot one of your favorites!

1. Take Care by Drake featuring Rihanna

If you are not a Drake fan, you will change your opinion when you see this music video. Plus, this modern love song gets extra points for featuring a duet. There is something about a guy and a girl singing in harmony that really brings the romance to life. Rihanna dated Drake in the past, but the music video for this song leaves us wishing that they were still an item.

2. Pusher Love Girl by Justin Timberlake

I am still amazed that Justin Timberlake has managed to remain a popular artist over the years. When NSYNC broke up, I honestly expected his solo career to be short lived. Fortunately, he outlasted the critics and produced the song, Pusher Love Girl. This song essentially looks at the ways that love is like an addition.

3. Wanted by Hunter Hayes

This song is perfect for anyone who has ever felt like they did not deserve the love of their partner. Even if you do not feel like you deserve their love, this song will make it feel like you do. It talks about how everything makes sense when you are with the person you love, which is a sentiment I can get on board with. When you are in love, the entire world seems like a brighter, happier place and everything just makes sense.

4. One and Only by Adele

When thinking of multiple modern love songs, it would be impossible to forget about Adele. She has a breathtakingly beautiful voice, and her voice is perfect for this song. Unfortunately, Adele’s song brings tears to my eyes instead of leaving me with a warm, happy feeling. Despite this, it is still one of my favorite love songs.

5. I Will Wait by Mumford & Sons

Like many of Mumford & Sons’ songs, this song caught on fast. Also like most of their songs, it has a great beat and wonderful lyrics. Once you hear it a couple of times, I Will Wait quickly becomes one of those songs that just gets stuck in your head. As such, it is perfect for you to put on a list of songs for a boyfriend or crush—he will play it over and over again, and he will keep thinking about you each time.

6. Still Into You by Paramore

Paramore made headlines in 2004 when it was formed, but they are still producing new songs all the time. There is something about her vocals that really make the music stand out. In Still Into You, you get a song that is perfect for long-term relationships. We have all had those moments where we were not sure if our partner was still into us. This song is a perfect way for you to remind your boyfriend or girlfriend that you still love them just as much as you did the first day that you started dating.

7. It Will Rain by Bruno Mars

It is unsurprising that Bruno Mars made the list. His songs have been love-making music for decades, and he is still a crowd favorite. This song is one of the more recognizable, recent pieces of his work. You may recognize it from the first part of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Although it sums up how Edward feels about Bella in the movie, it can also apply to your own life.

8. Ho Hey by the Lumineers

Jeremiah Fraites is the lead drummer for the band, and Wesley Schultz is lead vocals. After Jermiah’s brother died in 2011, the friends moved out to Colorado, found a third band member and started playing music as a group. Recently, Ho Hey was listed by Spotify as the third most played song in the entire United States. It features a simplistic, catchy rhythm and easy to sing lyrics. If you do not want a song to get stuck in your head, then do not listen to this one—you will be humming this tune for days.

9. Only One by Kanye West

When he is not hanging out with the famed Kardashian tribe, Kanye West produces hit after hit. This song talks about how he will smile or cry when his lover does as well. Basically, the message is “I am in it with you”. If you ever want a reminder of what true love should be like, then tune in to this song.

10. Video Games by Lana Del Ray

Unlike some of the songs on this list, this one is less happy. Lana Del Rey’s song, Video Games, has a darker, slower beat to it. Despite the darker tone, it still managed to reach the top ten charts in more than ten countries around the world. This song makes you feel nostalgic for the past—if you just got out of a long-term relationship, the dark tone may be too much for you.

11. Let Me Love You by Ne-Yo

This song is a good choice if you have had a bad experience in relationships before. Basically, it serves to remind you that, even if you do not believe in yourself, you can be redeemed through the love of someone else. All in all, a great song to listen to for anyone who needs that extra boost of self-esteem.

12. Use Somebody by Kings of Leon

If you have not found the right person quite yet, then this song probably expresses how you feel—or how you wish someone would feel about you. The main chorus line talks about “I could use somebody, someone like you”. Other than generally being a great song to listen to, it also has more of a rock feel to it. If you love rock music and want a grittier song, then Use Somebody by Kings of Leon works well.

13. Adore You by Miley Cyrus

This song talks about how she loves to lie next to her partner and she could lie next to them for eternity. If you have ever been in love, you probably understand this sentiment perfectly. All that you can think of throughout the day is how much you want to be with your partner and talk to them. Nothing else really seems to matter when you are truly in love with someone.

14. Wherever You Will Go by the Calling

Still looking for a modern love song? Wherever You Will Go may be one of the oldest songs on the list, but we just cannot get over the deep voice and sultry singing.

15. My House by Kacey Musgraves

Last on the list of the best modern love songs is My House by Kacey Musgraves. This is really the type of song that you can fall in love with. It has catchy lyrics, great vocals and is perfect as a love song. If you were looking for a female singer or just a great voice, My Voice is a great one to choose.
