What Does It Mean When You Dream About Giving Birth?
This can be an odd dream to have. If you have given birth to children before, then it could be just a blend of your subconscious memories. If you have never given birth before though, having this type of dream could really confuse it. Normally, giving birth in a dream does not mean that you will actually give birth soon in real life. Instead, this dream type is associated with a variety of different dream interpretations.
When you dream about giving birth, it can mean that you are facing great changes in your normal life. You may feel like a new beginning is just around the corner, and you are ready for the emotional, spiritual or physical transformation. If you dream about pregnancy as well, it can mean that great events and changes are just around the corner. If you actually are pregnant though, a dream about giving birth may just be due to your expectations and fears for the future. We will also cover the common variations and interpretations of this dream meaning.
1. Witnessing the Birth of a Child
If you watch someone else giving birth in a dream, it means that you will soon have financial success. If a woman dreams about giving birth, it may represent a sense of happiness or contentment.
2. Lonely Women
If someone is lonely and female, dreaming about giving birth means that she feels like there are rumors about her in real life. When a man dreams that he is giving birth, it means that he is about to go through a difficult time socially or at work.
3. Helping With the Birth
Helping someone to give birth represents abundance and a sense of honor. When there is a good birth, it is a symbol of creativity, happiness and luck. Meanwhile, a difficult birth indicates major issues that you will have to overcome. If the birth in the dream is quite tiring, it may indicate that there are complications ahead of you in life. If the birth is unexpected, it may be a sign of misfortune.
4. Gender
It is said that giving birth to a girl in the dream means that you will soon be free of all of your troubles. If you give birth to a boy, it is said to represent tiredness and fatigue. Having twins symbolizes abundance and wealth. An easy birth also means joy and good luck.
5. You Are Giving Birth
When you are giving birth in the dream, it may mean that you have a new attitude toward life. You recognize that you must make efforts to achieve your dreams and take responsibility for your part in each situation. If you are a single woman, an old wives’ tale says that you will first experience sadness and misfortune before experiencing happiness.
Other Dream Interpretations
Often, giving birth signals that there is good news arriving from abroad or exceptionally good luck. It can mean that good health and financial improvements are in your future. If you hear that someone else has given birth, it means that you will soon be saved from a difficult or complicated situation. It may also mean that you will achieve the success that you have been waiting so long for.
At its heart, giving birth is the ultimate transformation. From the love of two people, an entire other being is born. It is the ultimate new beginning and transformation. As such, a happy birth tends to represent abundance, new beginnings and the ability to work toward what you want.
Obviously, the ultimate meaning of the dream depends on what interpretation you give the dream. If a friend recently gave birth in your waking life, then the dream may just be representing some of the subconscious thoughts, feelings and memories that are going through your head. If you want to start a family, the dream may even be directly related to your desire to have children of your own. To really figure out what your dream means, you ave to figure out the situation in the dream, how you felt in the dream and who was involved. Then, you have to decide how these factors relate to your waking life. By doing this, you can create your own, individualized dream interpretation.

I just had the weirdest dream. I am way too young to have a baby and in real life not interested in having a baby anytime soon (unprepared and also want to do other things! I am in high school- I’m terrified of giving birth, that’s a no from me!) In the dream I was in the hospital bed and my Dad and brother were there and the nurse handed me the baby. I tried to hold it but I couldn’t do it right and it started getting fussy. I was so exasperated because even though I had no idea how I had this baby (i was super confused, it was definitely an accident) I thought that I would feel this maternal sense of love for it and I didn’t. I don’t remember what gender it was (girl?) but I was upset that I didn’t start crying tears of joy or anything so I actually started crying a little bit because I couldn’t feel that way. I felt a sense that I morally must take care of the baby, I just didn’t feel extreme love for the baby (the love was obligatory like how you would love all other babies). I thought to myself ‘I wish my mom was here because she could hold it right’. The nurse took the baby away while I was struggling and my dad started talking to me about trivial things. Then I started remembering that the baby wasn’t with me and I started crying, “Where is my baby? I want my baby.” But they ignored me and started talking about something else. I started stressing because I thought that even if I didn’t necessarily want to have this baby this was the circumstances and I needed to hold it because he or she was a living creature that needs to be held by the mother. I contained my crying as my grandparents walked in and some of my other family and my grandma hugged me really tightly and said something about not feeling bad if my grandpa is upset that I had a baby so young. I just started crying out more for the baby to her- I was more frustrated than feeling like a natural yearning to be with the baby. I thought to myself ‘how am I not exhausted right now?’- I felt fine even though I had just given birth. Everyone just ignored my asking for the baby and I started to think that they were going to give it away to someone else. My grandma said something like “oh after something or other let’s go do this fun thing”, and I remember thinking ‘I just gave birth?? My body is probably going to be physically destroyed and I have a child to raise now and I have literally no idea how?? I probably won’t want to go that trip/have time??’ I was super conflicted because I didn’t want to give birth at this age but since I had given birth I thought it was my mistake and therefore my responsibility. The nurse came in and I started purposely in hysterics (for emphasis) saying, “Where is my baby? Bring me the baby” because I thought she was legally obligated to listen to me and no one else was. Then I woke up. Yikes, please don’t tell me I want a baby because I deffo do not. Not sure if it was a nightmare because I wasn’t exactly scared, but I sure am glad I woke up and I’m going to college and not having to take care of a baby lol.

I also have a dream of giving birth without any help of others and the baby died before it came out of me. After a month I was again giving birth but this time it’s effortless and painless delivery to a healthy baby. I am not pregnant in waking life and I have no desires of having a baby yet. What do you think this means?

(5/3/19) I dreamt I was raped and became pregnant, I felt so ashamed & guilty to tell my real life bf in the dream… woke up the next day (5/4/19) researched the dream & went on w/ my day. Later that night or last night I dreamt of giving birth & in the dream I could remember saying to my consciousness *asuming this dream is real* “ dang so I must really be pregnant, that rape dream was telling me I’m pregnant” I’m confused honestly, have been having pregnancy themed dreams for about 7 weeks now & no , I’m 🤰🏽

I just dreamed that me and two other people were pregnant and each gave birth within minutes apart. I was the second to have birth. Each was very successful. I left my baby to go use the bathroom and was very shamed (assuming because I am 19). When I came back to retrieve my baby he was no where to be found. We searched for a very long time. I then began taking place of other people who informed people about it because they just weren’t listening and it felt like no one was making a big deal about it or looking for my baby.

I dreamt that I was in labour and in a hospital to give birth. I barely felt any pain, but still asked for an epidural for when the baby will come out. I told the nurse I have had a scoliosis surgery and if it is possible. She said yes and told me to be still. I moved a little when she inserted the needle but nothing major happened. I later effortlessly give birth with a partner by my side. And the girl is a perfect little creature. My mother puts her on my chest to breasfeed her which she does for a moment, then I tell my mom to breastfeed her herself. I’m 34 and I am single, I do have someone but we’re both not able to have a serious relationship at this point. This dream is surreal, but was so beautiful and peaceful. Is it a good omen seeing as to I cannot at the moment get married or maybe ever?

I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a baby yet I had to deliver the baby myself. I felt absolutely no pain and it came out in one effortless push. I cut the umbilical cord myself picked up the baby and began to carry out my normal life as if nothing happened. As people started to appear in my dream, I would show them my baby and they would show no interest and ignore me. I’ve hardly discussed pregnancy with anyone and I don’t have a partner. This is quite a frightening dream for me and I want to know what it could mean for my future etc.
Could you possibly help with interpretation please?

I had two dreams back to back, the first one where I am getting married, even thou I am a single woman, and a very sweet friend offers to walk me down the aisle, cause I don’t have a father and I’m teary eyed. But my wedding takes place at sunset overlooking the ocean. And it’s all a happy time. I only see myself walking down the aisle, after that nothing. And the second dream was that a woman was giving birth in front of me. And the baby just popped out. And then she and her family looks at me as though telling me it was demonstration, to my surprise the doctor asks me to do the same. To stand or sit in the same position so it will be as easy. I squat where I am standing. And my baby pops out of me painlessly too. I mean.. I feel a lil nauseated and a lil slight cramp, but that’s that. My family is supporting me, the doctor was very well versed with what he wanted me to do and humble. And I did exactly that! Everything was happy happy. I felt extremely fulfilled.

Just had a dream of being pregnant (no idea with whom) along with three other friends (or family members) – looked / felt like was kind of close to them, but can’t really remember who they exactly were … same time 3 of us and quite advanced pregnancy too. Then 3 of us were giving birth same 1 room same time, their labour went well (one after another) , I was the 3rd one to do it and somehow I was not able to deliver. But it looked like I was not ready yet, although I kind of expected as big belly and two other familiar women were doing so …. I’ve kind of friend, yet couldn’t… so I stopped and was wondering why I can not deliver yet? Then the dream ended. We were all quite happy healthy and all in my dream. Although I couldn’t figure out fully who am I pregnant with or what all 3 same time same due time etc
Any help with interpretation please?
