Being that most of these are teenage drama, you may also check out The Vampire diaries. While this spins off into supernatural entities involving witches, vampires, werwolves, and the like, it does have a great teenage aspect to it not unlike the O.C and one tree hill.
also, smallville is a great show and while it does spin a little out of the true story of superman (or shall I say, spins against the original superman) it still brings in a lot of drama, excitement, and while it does not stay true to every individual aspect of superman, the plot, charecter, and those involved are the same (with a few exceptions). and lets be honest with the amount of superman remakes, not many people know what the original superman involved or was like so no harm no fowl.

Definitely Friday Night Lights also! Very awesome TV show, like One Tree Hill
